B-school tips to make Bollywood hits

AHMEDABAD: Flop! One word, that's enough to frighten the daylights out of the biggest film-makers. But India's premier management institute, Indian Institute of Management, has a remedy for all those film-makers, looking for that elusive hit at the box-office. A working paper, co-authored by IIM-A faculty Rajanish Dass, provides film-makers of the Indian film industry, particularly Bollywood, suggestions to mitigate financial and political risks of movie-making: switch over to digital cinema, float short term bonds, analyse consumer profile, use financial products called options and enhance the sale of products associated with movies...Read more...
